Her anticipated graduation date is Fall 2024, after which she plans to pursue her M.S. in Chemistry, with a specialization in medicinal chemistry.
Undergraduate Student
Marian Martinez (She/Her)
Marian is a senior from Dallas, TX. As a transfer student from Dallas College, where she obtained her Associate of Science in Biology in 2023, she began at UNT in Fall 2023. She is currently working on a funded project through the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation aimed at investigating support structures for students who transfer from 2-year to 4-year institutions for chemistry. Marian hopes to enter the medical field, specialiaing in cardiothoracic surgery.
Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Rebecca Weber (She/Her)
Rebecca got her BS in Chemistry from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2010 as a non-traditional student. She earned her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, focusing on computational modeling of small molecules, from UNT in 2015. She now focuses on chemistry education research, as well as teaching General and Physical Chemistry and advising for the Chemistry Department. Rebecca has 4 kids, 7 animals, leading to a full, chaotic household. She also enjoys being outdoors, although not necessarily during August in Texas! Rebecca's current research focuses on preparation and success in General Chemistry, as well as investigating how undergraduate physical chemistry students interpret different chemical phenomena.
